Braelyn Hope Nestler

I started to have contractions after my OB appt on Thursday where he told me I was dilated to a 3. After that I came home and went back to work where I was having contractions but not consistent. Then about 3 pm to 530 pm I was having really strong contractions and they were going into my back. I called the doctors office where they told me to wait until contractions are 5 min apart for an hr. Well that must have scared them because after they subsided and I only had occasional ones.

Friday morning I got up and walked downstairs and started work. I had occasional contractions still but didn't know what to expect because I was induced with Brie and didn't have to have contractions before going in. My mom and darc were here and we decided about 5 pm to go to kmart and pick up Bries swing set. All of a sudden I started getting strong contractions about5-10 min apart. My mom kept saying we were going to have a baby today but I didnt want to go to the hospital and them tell me I hadn't dilated anymore and send me home. So I kept trying to be tough, but at about 930 pm I told Mike we better go. Mom and Darc were still here so I took a quick picture just in case and we went to the hospital. '

We got there about 945 pm where I told the nurses I was having contractions she told me if I was dilated to a 4 then would stay. I changed into a gown and the doctor checked me and I was a 4. Dr Shelley was on call that night and Cox was out of town which scared me a bit because if it's not your OB they may not be as aware. We made sure Dr Shelley and staff knew about my LongQT and I got my epidural at 2 am. Around 3 am she broke my water and said we just wait now. They checked me again at 4am no change then again at 5am no change. At 6 I was still at almost 5 but she was worried I hadn't changed much so she tried to stretch a little and told me to try to go side to side.

About 20 min later Braelyns heart rate went from 150s to 60s and 70s about the time Mike gets up to go grab a nurse about 7 come rushing in and I was scared. They are putting oxygen on me trying to get Braelyns heart rate up and talking about emergency c-section. So I had mike calling our family while Braelyns heart rate was climbing. About 15 min later I really start to feel pressure and I tell the nurse she says just a sec when I said I don't think we have that long. She checks me and with big eyes says you are a ten and don't push. Dr Shelly had just left home and was right back. I really was feeling contractions and pressure on my left side and was trying to get more for my epidural when a nurse remembered the button for a little extra I scramble to find the button and push I feel the cold into my back and pray it numbs quick. After a few pushes my beautiful daughter was born. 5 lbs 18.25 in long, blonde. At 708 am on May 26, 2012

Brie is now  mos old, which is hard to believe in a few weeks we will be bringing another little baby girl home. We did go to Dr Etheridge on May 1st where she increased Bries medicine to 1.4 and provided us w/a chord blood kit for this new baby. So we can have her tested and know when she is six months old. Brie is a character she is saying more and more phrases everyday. She said thank you, help, cheese, moo for cow, ruf for dog, neow for kitty, heehee for horse. She also says bird, juice, shoes, socks, and happy. she sits on the potty but doesnt really want to go potty in it. She loves to be outside and it grateful her Daddy is putting up a fence for her. She even helps him pick weeds.
